To The Devil A Daughter (1976)

Hammer Studios attempt to cash in on the post Exorcist "devil craze" of the early seventies has it's moments, but they are far and few between. And I stress the very few part. Christopher Lee plays a priest who has denounced the Church and decides to form his own, worshipping of course, the devil himself. Go figure. For some reason Lee and his little devil club have brought up a young girl in their church so that she in turn can give birth to the devil, or something along those lines. Actually, I'm not sure what was really happening at all in this flick. All I know is that Klaus Kinski's daughter plays the young girl, she's really hot, gets nude, and has a bloody monster puppet crawl between her legs. Christopher Lee gets naked as well and to be honest, I really did not need to see that at all. There are lots of attempts at disturbing type imagery, but none of it really succeeds. I will say that scene where the one lady gives birth with her legs tied together was pretty interesting. Not really sure why that was happening, but then again, this whole damn film confused me. There's lots of weird satanic mumbo jumbo in the middle of the flick, and it really just confused the hell out of me. Maybe I'm just not that bright, I don't know. Did I mention I was confused with this one? By the time the end came I could have cared less if good or evil won, I just knew I never wanted to see Chris Lee's bare ass ever again. Skip it.
