The Fly 2 (1986)

Director: Chris Wallace

Really fun sequel which I actually enjoyed more than the original. Story picks up some time after the original, with the birth of Brundlefly Jr. After his birth he is kept for observation by some type of big, evil corporation who wishes to study him. The young Brundlefly, named Martin, is not your average little tyke. By age 5 he is about the size of a twenty-something, and has a very high level of intelligence. He also starts to develop the urges of a twenty-something and falls in love with an attractive young lass who works at the corporation. All the while Martin becomes aware of what the corporation is really about and tries to flee with his gal-pal, but unfortunately for Martin his fly genes kick in and start to take over, in which he goes from man, to cocoon, then to giant, pissed off fly. This film had more of a classic "monster on the loose" feel to it, and it was cool to see Martin get his revenge on all those evil suits. All the effects were great, notably the awesome "fly puke to the face scene", the nice "head popping by falling elevator shaft" and one really cool fly suit...whew. I have to admit to my shedding a tear in this one, seriously. The scene when Martin is reunited with his deformed dog, which was a leftover experiment from the telepods, was to much for your rabid host to take.
