I Dismember Mama (1972)

Director: Paul Leder

Whew!! I know I probably typed this for the last review I wrote, but this baby just may be the worst flick I’ve seen in quite some time, and let me tell ya…I fucking mean that! Albert, our little psycho in question, is your usual sexual sadist/murderer with the to be expected hatred for all women. Albert escapes the loony bin after killing an orderly and is apparently out to get mommy dearest since he blames her for his nuttiness, what with her being a whore and all. At least that’s what Albert says, yet mom seems perfectly normal and way to naïve to the fact that her son’s a fucking basket case. Albert heads home to meet up with Ma, only to kill her big boobed maid and kidnap the maid’s young daughter. Don’t worry though, Albert won’t kill her you see, cus’ she’s “pure and clean” and not a filthy slut like all the other girls. After some truly uncomfortable pedophile vibes Albert gets the cops on his trail, there’s a chase scene, blah, blah, and fucking blah. What a completely inept piece of shit this one was. I can’t really call it a horror film cus’ it’s never too horrific, it’s more like a crime-drama type of gig. The film is loaded with bad acting, bad fashions (what’s up with Albert’s hat and that red coat…sheesh!) and well, just plain bad. Dig the “Poor Albert” theme song that blares in the middle of the movie…simply hilarious in it’s overall crappiness. At one point as Albert is entertaining the dead maids daughter he breaks into a sort of bizarre el-matador dance that had me and Zombo looking at ourselves and thinking, “Just what in the hell is wrong with us?” Oh, the movies we review for all you freaks. This sucker’s a truly horrible “movie”, and one that is best forgotten…honest.
