Graveyard Shift (1990)
Yet another lame ass adaptation of Stephen King's work brought to the big screen. Workers on the graveyard shift at an old, rat infested cotton mill do battle with a big, pissed of cross between a bat and a rat. The creature, when we see it, is actually pretty cool looking. Now, sometimes it works best in these types of flicks to see less of the monster, but when your movie is as lame as this one, a good creature is all you have going. If the filmmakers were smart, they would have delivered lot's of bat-rat creature attacks, but all we get are a couple rather bloodless killings throughout the first hour or so. The rest of the action consists of watching actors with really phony Maine accents shoot rats with water hoses. Not very exciting. Things picked up a bit in the end, but way to little and much to late. Look for the voice of Chucky himself, Brad Douriff, in a great role as a kooky rat exterminator. Skip it and just read the damn story instead.
