The Satanic Rites of Dracula (1973)
No, it's not as good as the older Hammer vampire pics, but I still had a good time with this one. Dracula (Christopher Lee of course) is posing as a wealthy tycoon in which he is planning to unleash the bubonic plague upon mankind, thus spelling the end of the world and enacting Dracula's final revenge. That is, until Mr. Van Helsing (Peter Cushing, R.I.P.) gets wind of the idea and decides to put a stop to it. This one sort of lacked the atmosphere of the earlier Hammer flicks, and sadly was the last time Christopher Lee would don the cape of Dracula. Look for the scene where the one chick gets trapped in the room full of female vamps popping out from their coffins. That was pretty cool and eerie. Though some things were lacking, it was a fun watch. Hammer flicks always remind me of my childhood, regarding "Thriller Double Feature" on Saturdays and countless Hammer pics beamed through my t.v., scaring the piss out of me.
