The Being (1983)

Simply piss awful stuff about a mutant creature running rampant in the small town of Pottsville, Idaho. Seems there has been some disposing of nuclear waste in the town dump, thus spawning our title monster. Some of the gore effects were ok, with a nice decapitation and ripped out heart being the highlights. The monster itself was sort of lame looking, in certain scenes where the monster is supposed to be jumping through the air at its prey, you can tell they just through a rubber monster dummy through the air. The main thing that irked me about this one though, was the acting by the guy who played the town sheriff or whatever. That guy was one of the worst actors I have ever seen, to say he has zero personality would be an understatement. Simply awful. Another thing was that the print used for this old Thorn video version was so damn dark I was lucky to even make out anything. You know, usually I enjoy mutants running around munching on people, but this one just plain stunk....piss on it.
