Jungle Holocaust (1976)

Director: Ruggero Deodato
a.k.a. "Cannibal", "Carnivore", "Last Cannibal World", "The Last Survivor"

After watching this film, I realized how shitty it would be to be stuck in some tropical rainforest with cannibal natives as my tour guide. In search of a research crew doing work in the South American rain forests, a group of four land their plane down in the steamy jungle, which unfortunately for them is populated by natives straight out of the stone age. The natives quickly dispatch the crew till only one is left, of whom they take back to their tribe to poke, probe and literally piss on. These cannibals don't make the most hospitable hosts, that's for damn sure. Ruggero Deodato's precursor to the mighty "Cannibal Holocaust" has it's fair share of atrocities. We get treated to stock footage of various animals killing each other, an alligator skinned alive by natives, fire ants feasting on human flesh and much, much, more. Watch out for the scene where the attractive Mei Mei Lai is skinned alive by her tribe, has hot coals shoved up her torso, and is eaten on the spot. Yum. One of the better cannibal flicks and a must for all you euro-sleaze fans, and that includes myself.
