Hmmm...a milk stout? Never heard of the style or of Colorado's Left Hand Brewing Company. You can definitely taste the usual stout flavors, coffee, chocolate, etc. and it is extremely smooth and of little to no carbonation. I really can't seem to tell the exact difference of a milk stout from a regular stout, and since this is the first of the style I've had, I'm not sure if it is a good example of this brew or not. This beer poured with a very minimal head, but had a simply gorgeous black sheen to it, as you hopefully can tell in the picture. Drank two after my dinner on a frosty December evening, and they filled me up for sure. The beer is not overly heavy, I think I just ate too much at dinner...good sipping beer for a cold winter evening.
Verdict: Very nice stout, would drink again.
