Tales From the Darkside: The Movie (1990)

Director: John Harrison

Ok anthology film in the same vein as the Creepshow series. Nothing to special about the first story, college kid who sells antiques brings a mummy back to life to exact some revenge on his fellow students. Contains a damn fine mummy suit, and an ok twist ending. The plot of the second story revolves around a little black kitty cat who shows up at an old rich guys estate to settle an old score. The old guy ran a pharmaceutical company which experimented on cats, so guess who wants a little revenge in the name of the feline race? Nothing to exciting, though watch for the scene in which our evil pussy jumps into a mans mouth, going all the way in his body, then back out again! Very cool. The last one is the best, in terms of both story and fx. Struggling artist sees a gargoyle murder his friend, and in exchange for his life, the gargoyle lets him live as long as he never reveals to anyone what he witnessed. You can sort of see the ending coming a mile away, but that's ok. All in all a good time waster, full of great fx by the K.N.B. Company.
