Deadtime Stories (1986)

Director: Jeffrey Delman

Pretty crappy anthology film, with three predictable "tales of terror". The first one deals with the attempts by two old witches to bring back their dead sister to life. They are aided by their apprentice, a teenage orphan they took in when he was just a wee lad. However, when the time comes for a sacrifice, particularly a cute little blond sacrifice, our orphan apprentice figures he has better things to accomplish then helping two old hags do some spells. Has some ok special effects, particularly when the dead sister is brought back to life. Second one is a take on Little Red Riding Hood. This time Red is a high school coed and our wolf is a werewolf who struts around in tight leather pants! The werewolf makeup is pretty shitty and the ending highly predictable. We do see some boobs however, which is always a plus, especially in crap like this. Last, but not least, is a modern day spinoff of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Goldilocks is a psychotic, though pretty hot young girl who can move stuff with her mind like Carrie or something. Anytime some boy tries to see if Goldilocks locks are gold all over, she off's em by using her psychic powers. Usually by having a knife fly into their head or something like that. Now onto the Bear family, who are three escaped nuts from the local looney bin. They decide to shack up at some old house where Goldilocks is staying, and everyone becomes one big, happy family. This one is done with the purpose of being funny, but um, simply put, it's not. If you see this one in the video store, back away real slow, avoid eye contact, turn, and run away, really really fast.
